When is Vomiting Serious?
Vomiting is quite common in dogs and is usually over almost before you finish cleaning up the mess. But vomiting can also be a symptom of much more serious disease. You should call us immediately, it your pet vomits repeatedly and refuses to eat or drink. Other situations that demand more attention include the pet that vomits occaisionally but is losing weight, if the vomitus is dark or black in color, or it occurs on a regular basis (for example, every afternoon). If in doubt, don't hesitate to call. It is always better to over react than to lose a beloved member of your family to an illness that could have been treated successfully.
